Some boardriding now you've coasted to coasted?

Proper messed up my arm at Halifax on Saturday, and that wasn't even on the slope! really I was too tired to ride and it seemed much hotter than it was; but we were there to support our nephew who was having lessons again, it was his first time on the proper slope!

As for me I improved some stuff I could already do (gap to frontside and backside boardslides, lazy fs180's on the main kicker) but when it came to new variations I was in danger of stacking big time. First attempt at a BS 180 from the big kicker was sooo close I felt I'd get it next time, bad idea; the next go almost had me land on my back, and the next try I slipped on the take off and got pitched over the ramp - almost inverted!

Anyhoo; all this fun reminds me how nice real snow can be; anyone fancy a Thursday night trip to Castleford in the next couple o' weeks?

Scroll all way down.

Bit conflicted on this.
Great that they published my idea
Bit annoyed that they edited it to add swearing.

Oh well, t'internet immortality has a price to pay I guess.

Kaboom

ID4 just finished. Wonderfull time, my bosses' family looked after me well and invited me to a pre-firework nosh up. Awesome ribs, nachos, key lime pie.
Fireworks were typical 'oooo, ahhhhh, wowwwww'. There was a huge barge moored off the island that went nuts setting stuff off, really, really impressive.
Then it all went a bit weird.
Seeing as the entire population of the island was on a thin bit of beach, I was a tad surprised at the fireworks being set off amongst the crowd. Right near the waterline, there was some pretty heavy munitions going off. We were taking bets on who'd be first to lost a finger. Apparently, the usual stuff is pretty good (loads more bang and spraying of sparkly stuff in random directions than I'm used to in England). Where it got a bit crazy was the fireworks people had brought from the Indian Reservations that don't meet the usual standards of safety. Some of them going off was causing a few of us to take cover. Real 'piggin el, what the hell was that, why are my ears ringing, I can see people shouting but can't actually hear what they're saying because of this high pitched screaming noise in my ears' stuff.
Oh well, don't think they had any fatalites, but there's going to be some mutton jeff's about tomorrow, I'm sure. Tried to explain when we have fireworks going off, but sounds pretty wierd saying we celebrate the bloke who nearly blew the houses of parliment up 400 years ago.

MTV, what does the M stand for again?

Had MTV on the telly all day. What a waste of time. Luckily, found a stream of it, think someone just plugged BBC2 radio into an encoder or something.
Thing that blew me away, there was no music!!! After 1 1/2 hrs, maybe 2, there'd been 3 songs played. Rest was commercial breaks, 20something VJ's breathlessly gushing how wonderfull this all is, promises of amazing acts later, interviews with people, and lots of studio time between hosts.
NO ACTUAL ACTS.
Was driving me nutty. It started to pick up, then for some reason, we had Greenday on twice, with repeats of tracks, Bon Jovi repeated twice, Jay flippin Z, and Destiny's Child. And I think that's it.
Why don't they just drop the M part of MTV? Can't something be done under trade descriptions act or something?
