Weekend goodness

We'll I hope your works party/ies were worth it Wez, because Propagandhi tore the roof off on Friday. It was an awesome performance in a room absolutely packed with about 500 people. We started the gig about 20 feet from the front, which turned out to be the edge of the mosh pit, after a few songs we withdrew to a safer distance near the back, all of 40 feet from the stage.

Propagandhi kicked off with stuff from the new album (Potemkin City Limits) which although a lot harder than the first two albums really killed, tight, fast and very loud. Still highly politically charged. A mixture of tracks from all four albums followed with the crowd yelling along and generally going crazy. The hottest sweatiest gig I've been to all year, and certainly one of the best.

Otherwise it was a weekend of finishing the xmas shopping and doing the wrapping up. Four days off, now four days on, then Dean's extended holiday season officially begins...

Calling Wezzie

So, do you know where you are off on Friday night? Need directions, or any extra tickets? (you'd be lucky on the latter)

Nightmare day of shopping with me ma in Leeds yesterday has left me feeling like crap in work today; still only another 6.5 hours till home time.

*sigh*

Playing with me wii!

So, walked into game at 9:30 on friday. Walked out 5 minutes later with my wii. :)
Tones was going to buy me it for Christmas but then stipulated I wouldn't be allowed it until Christmas Day, to which I replied "pfffffttt!".
So I got home but the living room was a bit untidy and because we planned on trimming up this weekend then tidying up had to be done. Also because Dan was coming round, I had to ensure the play area was free of cat hairs.
So, plugged in, configured mii and played, and its a great little machine.
Its not a high powered super console, but more of a lets get people who don't play i.e. toni's dad to have a game.
Dan, Kirt, Lin, Adam Grace and Matt came round on the night and we all had a laugh at tennis and bowling and boxing and all the other games that come free with it.
I haven't got zelda or red steel or any of the 'serious' games that come with it, so there's probably a side to it that I haven't seen it.
Its compatible with gamecube games though (that I didn't own) so stuff like metroid prime or starwars I can probably play now. I'll just nip to cash converters and pick up a pad or two.
I was contemplaying putting it on ebay and making £100 (selling for £300), but if people wanted one, they should have pre-ordered one. Having said that, if I could have made £300 definitely, then I may have been tempted.
