Where do we go from here?

So, seeing as the readership and content has dropped, should we go back to using the old google groups e-mail thingy and drop this blog? Drop it like its not. :)

To be honest, I think I prefer e-mail as its a lot easier to catch up on and maybe Joel , Rich & Dan etc. will come back onto the readership lists? Plus its a lot easier to post pics and crap links that you've seen, AND at least we get to keep the e-mail addresses up to date, cos if you changed your e-mail Dean I wouldn't know what it was because this blog doesn't require e-mails to be shown.

Can you let me know please?

Secondly, Robo, have you seen google street view? Is your flat/apartment on it?

SORRY!

WELL haven't I been a slacker??
Got a new PC at work, the old browser went a bit tits up and so did all my bookmarks/passwords etc. etc. Still, I thought about you lot the other day and so I'd thought I'd get back on board.
I can see there's not been many postings recently. You been busy Dean/Robo?
I'll reply to a few comments below.

Right, first - Dean, there's a ska/punk gig on in leeds at the uni on the 26th? Slam dunk is it? We've got tickets and a carful will be going to up to watch it. Just wondered if you knew/were going.
Secondly, me vids are posted up on Revver. Just go to Revver and do a search for 'w3z' and me three vids should appear.
Finally, everyone and everything's well in my world, apart from a few mates like andy b who are losing their jobs to cheap european labour. :(

Hello!

Finally sorted posting to blogger again, after google went all third degree on me and demanded I get an identity card or summat.

Anyhoo; Went to Bulgaria with Dan, Joel and 15 others. Fun times though Bulgaria is proper dodgy. Got a business offer whilst there too, to run a chalet, and since then we've got a second investor on board and are looking to start up proper in time for the 2008-09 season.

Went to Serre Chevalier also a couple of weeks ago, and that was awesome. Great snow, fantastic terrain, a bit quiet by French resort standards but perhaps the better for it.

Next stop is Slovakia this weekend, for another week on the white stuff, it's dumping out there at the moment too, which is nice!

Finally me and Sue go off to Courcheval in April for a job interview to run a chalet/work the season. Hopefully all we have to do is turn up and seem keen/human; we'll see...

Overall though the aim is to jack in the council work one way or another in the next 18 months, and get out into the mountains and a new life, hopefully forever!

Then Sue will be allowed some pets ;-)

And whilst we're on it...

Went to see 'The Bouncing Souls' play last night. Last seen about nine months ago, and this time they were even better! Top quality sing along positive punk rock, really got the crowd going. Just a shame the other bands received such an apathetic response. Really a gig of two halves, entirely down to an audience that was only interested in seeing one act...

Speaking of music

Jump Around

Youtube feels like it's 2 mins before the Napster effect. There's some great stuff, both looked for and stumbled onto accidentally. It's too good, it can't last for much longer.

On the sick - Music that is...

Been down with a cold, so killing time at home. Been spending a lot of time on this webpage:

http://www.pandora.com/

American music player; It has the advantage that it selects music for you based on the initial choices you make. If you start with an old skool hip hop track, it'll start feeding you other songs that it considers are similar. A great way to try new music, and you refine it as you go. The sound quality is excellent too, not like listening to samples on amazon, or some of the online radio station websites I've seen.

Only downside is that you need a US zipcode for full access; but that isn't really a challenge, I apparently live inside the office for a US distribution company ;-)

Viva Las Vegas

Just got back from a few days in Vegas.
Wow, what a place. Babylon incarnate.
Not being into gambling, thought I'd not have that much fun. But got dragged to the Blackjack tables anyway.
And yes, it's true. you get free drinks whilst your gambling. So, with a Star Trek episode in mind, I set out not to win, but to mitigate losses enough to get shozzles.
Was 10 bucks and 9 drinks up when I suddenly lost the ability to count up what cards I had in front of me and it all went down hill from there.
Hotel (NewYork,NewYork) was amazing, and I can see how people wouldn't need to leave the hotel for 3 days or so, there's so much to see/do actually in the place.
Zumanity was amazingly awesome, the erotic side of Cirque de Soliel (sp?). The little midget flying around the room looked so happy with a big grin on his face. The red head in latex wi' boobs out and a big whip wasn't that bad either. Very, very cool Vegas show.
Coyote Ugly in Vegas was a bit wilder than the newly opened one in Miami (that I went to with Dave Carrick about 2 or 3 days after it had opened and the chicks dancing on the tables kinda got in the way of us trying to have a quiet beer when there was only 4-5 other people in the place). Robo recommendation on the place to visit, with the lads. I'd definately go again. The stuff/shows to see/do in all the hotels could keep you busy for ages. Wouldn't mind seeing the full on Cirque de Soliel, Prince, and the new Hasslehoff show started soon, if only to see K.I.T.T juggle midgets. Or maybe that's a different show. Maybe.

I'm shy...don't look at me

Hey all, Hope all is well? It's been awhile....mostly because I am crap. I am now once again a northern monkey :) Have moved back home to Waltham and spurned all that is London. Still working away all over the place but back most weekends now...I love this village.
Spent all of crimbo at home been very dull and quiet.

Currently in a pub in Ellesmere....I didn't have a clue where it was either until i looked on Google maps. The B&B (pub) i'm staying in has wireless which is great. So i may be more able to put random drunk ramblings up here.

right......sleep now TTFN

Weekend goodness

We'll I hope your works party/ies were worth it Wez, because Propagandhi tore the roof off on Friday. It was an awesome performance in a room absolutely packed with about 500 people. We started the gig about 20 feet from the front, which turned out to be the edge of the mosh pit, after a few songs we withdrew to a safer distance near the back, all of 40 feet from the stage.

Propagandhi kicked off with stuff from the new album (Potemkin City Limits) which although a lot harder than the first two albums really killed, tight, fast and very loud. Still highly politically charged. A mixture of tracks from all four albums followed with the crowd yelling along and generally going crazy. The hottest sweatiest gig I've been to all year, and certainly one of the best.

Otherwise it was a weekend of finishing the xmas shopping and doing the wrapping up. Four days off, now four days on, then Dean's extended holiday season officially begins...

Calling Wezzie

So, do you know where you are off on Friday night? Need directions, or any extra tickets? (you'd be lucky on the latter)

Nightmare day of shopping with me ma in Leeds yesterday has left me feeling like crap in work today; still only another 6.5 hours till home time.

*sigh*

Playing with me wii!

So, walked into game at 9:30 on friday. Walked out 5 minutes later with my wii. :)
Tones was going to buy me it for Christmas but then stipulated I wouldn't be allowed it until Christmas Day, to which I replied "pfffffttt!".
So I got home but the living room was a bit untidy and because we planned on trimming up this weekend then tidying up had to be done. Also because Dan was coming round, I had to ensure the play area was free of cat hairs.
So, plugged in, configured mii and played, and its a great little machine.
Its not a high powered super console, but more of a lets get people who don't play i.e. toni's dad to have a game.
Dan, Kirt, Lin, Adam Grace and Matt came round on the night and we all had a laugh at tennis and bowling and boxing and all the other games that come free with it.
I haven't got zelda or red steel or any of the 'serious' games that come with it, so there's probably a side to it that I haven't seen it.
Its compatible with gamecube games though (that I didn't own) so stuff like metroid prime or starwars I can probably play now. I'll just nip to cash converters and pick up a pad or two.
I was contemplaying putting it on ebay and making £100 (selling for £300), but if people wanted one, they should have pre-ordered one. Having said that, if I could have made £300 definitely, then I may have been tempted.
